December 16th, 2019 – Ventuno, the all-women Italian start-up, introduces a selection of its Experience Boxes, featuring regional wine & food specialties, onto the Chinese market. Ventuno’s vocation for disseminating the Italian heritage abroad, in China in particular, is something Ines di Franco and her team share with Italian Lifestyle. As an extraordinary ancient culture with a myriad regional identities and a strong sense of family, art and tradition, China is well placed to appreciate what is finest and most authentic in the rich lore of the Italian people.

Ventuno and Italian Lifestyle likewise share a strong affinity for innovation and the digital world, which are very advanced on the Chinese market. Ventuno, in fact, offers a multi-sensory journey through Italy also thanks to the VR viewer that comes with our Experience Boxes and charts Italy’s cultural and culinary heritage. Tradition and biodiversity combine with innovation and environmental sustainability; products and ingredients hail from certified or organic crops, boutique estates, DOC and DOCG appellations and master craftsmen.

Our Experience Boxes for the three classic, convivial moments – aperitif, lunch/dinner and dessert – are hand-crafted from sustainable wood. Each is a veritable gourmet’s treasure chest enclosing the finest regional wine & food specialties, expertly picked and paired by Ventuno founder Ines di Franco, a former mentee of Gualtiero Marchesi. High-end products, exquisitely packaged and unavailable to the large-scale retail trade.

Innovative technology is the cherry on the cake

As if authentic culinary excellence were not enough (the cake, literally), the cherry on top is Ventuno’s strategic asset: innovative technology. Our multimedia and interactive content, with 360-degree, panoramic videos and photos of local landmarks, growers and specialties, enable international gourmets to embark on a “journey of discovery”, steeped in Italy’s landscapes and history, region by region.

This all-Italian startup is the brainchild of Sicilian-born Ines di Franco, a longtime resident of Milan – via Paris, France, where her experience as a restaurateur and the discipline she acquired from Gualtiero Marchesi led her to take the plunge and establish her own… “portable Italy”, inspired by her passion for disseminating the wine & food culture of her native land. Ventuno has already enjoyed multiple international accolades. In 2016, when it was no more than a blueprint, it was selected by the Bank of China as part of its project of pairing European companies and Chinese trade in Beijing. In 2017, it was one of 10 finalists in ISIC 2017, the “Italian Scale-up Initiative in China”.
