How Ventuno came about

Ventuno is an all-women Italian start-up, the brainchild of Ines Di Franco, whose passion for travel and terroir knows no bounds. Her inquisitive nature and taste for discovery were written into the family DNA; her Sicilian roots endowed her with an affinity with fine food and instinct for excellence. Over a decade’s experience in the food & beverage sector honed her skills and whetted her appetite for narrating Italy through its myriad local specialties.  

After collaborating with the Gualtiero Marchesi group in France, Ines Di Franco opened a restaurant all her own in Paris, and that is when she fully realized the impact Italy’s wine & food heritage has abroad:  

“Clients would often ask whether they could taste this or that particular Italian product and ingredient: they wanted to experience the flavors and aromas but above all, they wanted to know the story behind these. So I started to seek out regional specialties and unique items and little by little, my restaurant doubled as a deli and wine store.”  

Ventuno is Ines’ labor of love. Her goal – her dream – is that it should become the go-to brand for gourmets all over the world, providing excellence, beauty and innovation while respecting the environment and safeguarding our planet.

What’s in a name? “Ventuno” explained.

“Ventuno” is Italian for “Twenty-one”. The name was chosen with a reason: there are twenty distinct regions in Italy, each with its own, unique personality and heritage, each providing a distinctive experience. One, like Italy, a single, singular country with twenty diverse traditions and one common spirit and zest for life.

Twenty-one celebrates these traditions, terroirs and treasures, honoring Italy’s magic and identity.
